Sketchbook Confidential 2 – Pamela Wissman and Stefanie Laufersweiler

“My sketches are the birth of ideas.  The exploration of potential. The rough draft of a final product. The final product is not called “a work of art” for nothing.  It is the sketchbook that houses most of the “work” for a work of art.” – Russell Jewell

If you like having a peek into other artists’ sketchbooks, then this book is for you.

Drawn In – Julia Rothman

cropped drawnin

I love going on instagram because seeing other people’s art posts always leaves me feeling inspired and excited to create. That’s why Julia Rothman’s DRAWN IN was so perfect for me. This book offers a peek into the sketchbooks of known artists in the fields of illustration, graphic design and cartooning. Of the 44 artists, I was only familiar with the works of Jessica Hische and Mike Perry.  Still, it felt so inspiring to look through the different artists’ sketchbooks and learn about their creative habits.

My Bookshelf

I’m starting a new segment on my blog called MY BOOKSHELF.  I’d like to share with you a short review of the craft books I have in my personal collection. I’ll also post a few pictures from the book.   I will only be covering books that I really love and recommend. 🙂
